After protests of WoW fans: Clone service for era and BC heroes cheaper!

The WoW developers may have turned the corner once again. With the announcement of the launch of WoW Burning Crusade Classic on June 2, 2021, the makers of the online role-playing game have also revealed the price that will be incurred if you want to keep a character on both a Classic Burning Crusade server and a Classic Era realm: a hefty 35 euros. Per character. "Yeah, are you nuts?!" was the response from the Classic community.

A price to kneel them

For the casual WoW Classic gamer, 35 euros is just as high a price as it is for the Classic players, who invest an enormous amount of time and resources to make their main a pat fighter in PvP and raids. It's not uncommon for speedrunners and other ambitious Classic players to need two, three, if not more supporter characters on the side to get the most out of their main.

Whether you're just toying with the idea of keeping a character on both a Classic server and an Era server, or you've already made a firm plan, everyone will be happy to know that the WoW developers have heard the negative feedback from the community. As community manager Kaivax notes on the WoW forums, the price for the clone service will be reduced from €35 to €15 per character. "A lower price will likely still meet our goals with the new service while allowing many more players to play characters on both Classic Era and Burning Crusade Classic realms," Kaivax said.

Sorry, new to the party

The developers are apologetic for the overly high price tag as follows: "This service - providing a player with a second copy of a character in another game - is new to us. Our original concept for the value of this service was largely based on how we price other optional items and services." At least they responded to the community's anger, which made really high waves.
