WoW: A storm is coming - new weather effects in Stormwind and Orgrimmar

World of Warcraft has received numerous updates over time. In Cataclysm, the developers reworked several areas. The two faction capitals - Stormwind and Orgrimmar - have also received several new coats of paint in recent years. What was missing were the weather effects, which make the cities and the surrounding areas look more alive.

Thunderstorm in Stormwind and Orgrimmar

The developers probably had this idea in the back of their minds for a while. The team announced a few days ago in the official WoW blog

that the two capital cities Stormwind and Orgirmmar will get new weather effects with patch 9.1.5. However, it seems that players won't have to wait until the next update at all. The new weather effects are already in the game! Next time you need to do something in the capitals, stay a while and wait for the next weather change. If you're lucky, you'll get your first rain in a long time in Stormwind or Orgrimmar. The stormy weather front has even caught some players by surprise. One heroine, for example, was standing around AFK on the rooftops of Stormwind when she was "woken up" by thunder. The new skybox shows a dark sky, plus the rain effect and thunder can be heard in the distance. In Orgrimmar, however, the bad weather doesn't make it as gloomy as Stormwind. Still, the rain is a welcome change from the otherwise sunny days.

Clearly, the work on the weather in World of Warcraft (buy now 14,99 € )

is not yet finished with this mini update. For example, some players want not only rain, but also snow, depending on the season. Whether Blizzard will ever implement this idea in WoW remains to be seen.Support buffed - it will only take a minute. Thank you!
