WoW Patch 9.1: Upgrades for Valor Point work differently in Season 2
Good news for Mythic+ fans: WoW developers are adjusting the ranks and Mythic+ ratings you need to achieve to upgrade your gear in patch 9.1. The required ratings are staggered differently with Season 2 of Mythic+ than they have been since the system was introduced with Patch 9.0.5, meaning that ratings for Rank 7 through Rank 11 are almost universally lower than before.
Upgrades via Valor Points - Scores in Season 2
As soon as patch 9.1 is released and the second Mythic+ Season has started, you will be able to upgrade your items in twelve ranks again, this time up to a maximum item level of 246. To unlock a rank, you have to reach a certain dungeon rating. The WoW developers have adjusted this rating so that it is now easier to unlock ranks 7 to 11. For rank 12, you'll need the Keystone Master achievement and a score of 2,000, as usual.
Ranks 7 through 11 change as follows in patch 9.1:
- Rank 7 (Itemlevel 229): You need a rating of 600 (before 750).
- Rank 8 (Itemlevel 233): You need a rating of 1000 (before 750).
- Rank 9 (Itemlevel 236): You need a rating of 1000 (before 1500).
- Rank 10 (Itemlevel 239): You need a rating of 1400 (before 1500).
- Rank 11 (Itemlevel 242): You need a rating of 1700 (before 2000).
We think the adjustment makes sense because it promotes a more gradual structure, giving players a smoother transition between ranks. What do you think? Let us know what you think in the comments!
